ALLOW WHAT IS UNFOLDING
As the Season Turns
This time of year in the Northern Hemisphere, change becomes something we can see and feel.
The air cools. The light shifts. Days grow shorter, leaves begin to fall, and we naturally begin spending a little more time inside.
And we may be noticing changes within our own bodies, our inner worlds, and our lives too.
Sometimes something asks us to slow way down from the pace and routines we’ve grown accustomed to.
An ache or pain that doesn’t go away. An injury or physical limitation that changes what we can do. Less energy . A body that needs more rest or simply won’t let us keep pushing through in the ways we once could.
And then there are the things in life that change or begin to fall away.
Someone we love. A relationship. A role. A home or community. Something that once gave us purpose, identity, or a sense of belonging.
We may feel a tenderness in our heart. Flashes of what was and the realization of what is no longer. Grief for what we’ve lost, what we’ve had to let go of, or even for the life we imagined that never quite came to be.
And sometimes it’s much quieter.
A sense that something within us has changed.
That the way we’ve been moving through life no longer fits quite the same.
That there are parts of ourselves we miss, things that still matter deeply, or parts of life we want to be more present for while they’re here.
Perhaps this is part of what the season can offer us.
A little more space to listen to what our bodies, our inner worlds, and our lives may already be asking of us.
Not to fix ourselves or rush toward an answer.
But to meet ourselves where life is meeting us now.
This is the invitation of The Turning Inward.
Everything Is Connected
Where something is showing up isn’t always where it began.
Pain in the body may be layered together with years of pushing through, bracing, compensating, or carrying too much.
A relationship that continually brings you back to the same place may touch something much older around trust, belonging, closeness, or what you learned you needed to do to stay connected.
Anxiety may be intertwined with a body that has become accustomed to anticipating what might happen next.
And sometimes what looks like a physical, emotional, or relationship problem is connected to something we haven’t even considered yet.
When you and I work together, we’re not separating your body from your emotions, your relationships from your history, or your everyday life from your inner or spiritual life.
All of it belongs.
Rather than continually trying to fix the place where something is showing up, we become curious about the larger picture of what may be happening within you and your life.
